David Wales MSc BSc(Hons) MCSP HCPC

David is a clinical specialist physiotherapist with extensive experience working in private practice in London. Following the end of his professional football career due to a fractured Femur, he studied Physiotherapy at the University of Manchester, where he gained a double first (dux) in his final examinations and was awarded a prized clinical education at Manchester United FC, following which he worked as a physiotherapist in professional football for over fourteen years, first at Charlton Athletic FC and then for over eleven years at Arsenal FC, including being physiotherapist to ‘The Invincibles’.

David was awarded a Master of Science degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation from the University of the West of England and has post graduate certification in Advanced Physiotherapy, Manual Therapy, Functional Movement Screening, Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Treatment and Management of Football Injuries, Taping and Strapping, Psychological Therapies, Advanced Resuscitation and Emergency Aid, Prescribing Medicines, Strength and Conditioning, and Olympic Weightlifting. He has also worked in clinical and management roles at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, St John’s Wood; Central Health Physiotherapy and in private practice in Harley Street. 

David is an expert in all sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions including knee pain, and the management of tendinopathy (tendonitis). He has a vast experience of orthopaedic rehabilitation following fractures and dislocations, knee injury and knee surgery; shoulder injury and shoulder surgery; ankle injury and ankle surgery; foot injury and foot surgery;  spinal surgery; hip injury and hip surgery; groin pain and sports hernia. He works closely with the leading orthopaedic surgeons in London to rehabilitate patients following surgery.

Sumi Mendis BSc(Hons) BSc(Hons) MCSP HCPC

Sumi is a clinical specialist neuro-physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience in Neurology. She worked for 15 years in the NHS at Bart’s and the Royal London Hospital Trust then over a decade at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. QueenSquare, London. She moved into the private domain after having children, gaining further valuable experience at The Wellington Hospital and The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.

Sumi attended the University of Birmingham, where she graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and Sports Science, then studied at Brunel University and graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy.

Sumi has a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and was a clinical specialist within the MS services of Queen Square. Sumi now voluntarily provides an exercise group for people in north London with Multiple Sclerosis. Follow this link for more information on “MS Fitness Force”.   

Sumi uses skills in functional movement analysis and a close evaluation of a clients 24hour movement behaviour as a basis for her assessment of clients difficulties with movement. Sumi has skills in neuromuscular facilitation using the Bobath Concept (she is an Advanced Bobath trained Physiotherapist) and with knowledge in spasticity management; splinting & taping; gait assessment, orthotics and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES); postural management, wheelchairs & seating; strength and conditioning; Neuro-Pilates; Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation and upper limb rehabilitation, she is able to provide a holistic approach to her clients care.

Sumi provides specialist home-visit neuro-physiotherapy treatment for clients with neurological conditions living in north London, as well as some studio sessions in our Southgate Studio.
